I read Your words
And Your Word–
You–
Show me connections
Of wonder
Swirling galaxies
Of words
Constellations
Of truth–
All of which is Yours–
But surely You show me
So that I can make it
Somewhat intelligible
To people outside my own head?
So together we can walk,
A living galaxy
Of Your love
Catching others in the
Joyful dance
Of Your new creation…
If only I could scatter
Words that make sense!
As if You,
Triune Creator of worlds–
Showing me galaxies–
Aren’t also in command
Of creating order
From the spoken Word
In the souls
Of people other than me.
As if I have some task
Other than to speak.
As if You can’t
Bring order
To my chaos.

That’s good stuff, Pastor J.
Thanks, LP. It’s been long ages since I’ve even attempted poetry, and posting it in public is rather anxiety-producing!
